A few inches between a vanity and shower glass can determine how the bathroom feels every day.
The space beside the glass
A slim vanity sits close to the shower glass, with a patterned floor visible under both parts of the room. The photograph is useful because it shows the junctions a cropped vanity picture misses: the cabinet edge, the glass, and the walking space.
The shower glass is close enough to the vanity that cleaning access matters. A beautiful cabinet can become frustrating if its side is impossible to wipe down or a drawer hits the glass. The floor pattern is another check: the vanity footprint may reveal an unfinished gap if the replacement is smaller than the original.
Vanity fit checks
- 1Measure finished wall width
- 2Locate supply and drain
- 3Check drawers against glass
- 4Inspect floor below the old vanity
Fit the cabinet to the room
Before a vanity is ordered, the installer needs to check the finished wall width, plumbing position, drawer swing, and floor transition. A glass shower panel adds another dimension to check. Even a small mismatch can make daily use feel cramped.
Check the old footprint
Measure the vanity and photograph its inside plumbing before shopping for a replacement. If you want new glass too, include that in the same estimate request so the cabinet and shower clearances are considered together.
